Hi all
I'm always on the lookout for new music to dance to. I'm especially looking for pieces that are a mixture of ethnic instruments with electronica or strong dance club beats. Can anyone recommend their favorite websites?

Re: online sources for music
Mon, June 1, 2009 - 12:07 AMI'm investigating Pandora.com- you enter a song of whatever genre you like, and it starts feeding you more to choose from, honing in on your taste depending what you accept or reject. I haven't had a chance to explore yet. -

Re: online sources for music
Mon, June 1, 2009 - 12:31 AMIt's quite nice. The only problem I have with Pandora is that at one time you could only choose one song or artist and the station would choose from there. Now I think you can add "variety" to the station, but I haven't used it much lately. Also, no matter what station I had it seemed to only play the same ten or fifteen songs. Although that could have just been me. :P But otherwise, it's great. I've discovered a lot of good music from there. -

Mon, June 1, 2009 - 4:27 AMSadly, both Pandora and Rhapsody are only available to listeners in the US. I'd like to find an international version.

Re: online sources for music
Sun, June 7, 2009 - 7:54 AMI use emusic for most of my music downloads. My only complaint is that the sound bites are never long enough. I have found some very interesting sounds by looking at what others like. tinariwen, dj kambo, jef stott, juno reactor, karsh kale, falik, maduro, knossos, naked rhythm, palyrria to name just a small handfull. -

Re: online sources for music
Wed, June 24, 2009 - 7:24 PMI love last.fm for finding new music and artists they have so very much. It's easy to mark songs for later and link to places where you can purchase the song such as itunes, amazon and so on. Magnatune is another great place, they have a unlimited download membership, a minimum $10 a month, and you essentially pay as much as you want and half of what you pay goes to the artists. -
